ISSUE I: RENNAISSANCE
In honor of the birth of this magazine, we invite you to explore the idea of rebirth. From the paintbrushes of Botticelli to the studios and streets of Harlem, our very first issue calls for works inspired by the renaissances of the past.
Perhaps you will take us to the House of the Medici, or to the cities of the Ottoman Empire. In the rebirth of antiquity and cultural revolution, how do people respond to change in art and scholarship? Show us the trailblazers. The artists and poets, scientists and philosophers. Show us thinkers who were kept from the limelight of history, art and discoveries made in silence. The politics of a new era, the fashion, the attitudes. What does rebirth mean to you? What did it mean to those who came before?
